You are timed out of a lesson if your device fails to respond to a Bramble heartbeat ping in time.
To explain, we're constantly pinging your device to check the connection is live. If this fails to respond to the ping in 15s we say the device is unresponsive and begin to close the connection.
There are a few reasons why there is a failure to respond to the ping in time:
- Connection drops out or is too slow to respond.
- The computer processor is busy doing something else, and therefore slow to respond. More likely the case on less powerful devices.
- The computer processor is busy doing something on Bramble, such as uploading a large resource and therefore doesn't respond in time.
Often, it's a combo of the above: weak connection, underpowered device and doing something computationally intensive.
You can improve this by following through the steps on this page: https://about.bramble.io/help/how-to-improve-your-connection.html
It is also worth shutting down any other tabs/applications on your computer that are not needed.
